A Little History on Hudson…

Did you know Hudson, Florida was a huge battling ground during the Civil War? Originally inhabited by the Seminole Indians, Grace Memorial Gardens in Hudson is the burial site for many of these Indians. Quickly becoming over run by Pirates burying treasure on Horse Island these Buccaneers used the bayous and inlets for illegal activities. Soon came the Civil War. The Confederates then used the Pasco County coastline and gained settlers from salt trading. What is known now as Port Richey, holds “The Old Salt Mine” of Florida. If not for the Civil War many wouldn’t be free today!
